Info om World rowing coastal championships 2017
Vi har modtaget nedenstående information vedr. VM 2017 i coastalroning for klubhold.
Det holdes i år, den 13.-15. oktober, på Geneve-søen ud fra Thonon i Frankrig.
Danske roere har nu i flere år deltaget i coastal VM, og vi håber at mange danske hold – nye som ”gamle” – vil deltage i år.
Og i år er det muligt at få sin helt egen lokale ”fanklub”.

Thonon-les-Bains (France) has been selected to organize the World Rowing coastal Championships 2017 in october, a new experience in Coastal Rowing on Europe largest lake between Geneva and Chamonix/Mont-Blanc.
Thonon has a long tradition of rowing and is a city devoted to water with a famous brand name of pure mineral water.
The rowing club of Thonon was awarded 2nd French Coastal Rowing Club in 2013 : 15 medals at the French Coastal Rowing Championships from 2005 up to now, 2 Gold medals, 1 Bronze medal and 4 Fourth places at WRCC from 2008 up to now. It have a long experience in organizing many sailing Regatta, 2011 and 2012 French University Rowing Coastal Championships and 2013 French Rowing Coastal Championships (600 rowers, many spectators > 5,000 and more than 80 volunteers helped with a strong involvement of local population.
Thonon-les-Bains is a holiday resort with an easy access from Geneva, Lyon or Paris and where hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, infrastructures are existing.
The races will be organised in a stadium concept: spectators are directly watching the races and the final length is along the banks of lake where the public stands. Competition village, races, exhibitor village and all controls are in a single place: easy to access, easy to follow, easy to manage, easy to control. There is high interest of local populations, from watching to contributing as volunteers in order to help competitors: for the 2013 French RCC, they were the famous people in dark blue shirts helping all crews at pontoons to put their boat on water and to take them off.
Then, we hope that the clubs of your federation will join us in Thonon on lake geneva for world rowing coastal championships 2017.
For this event, we organise a unique friendship experience for both the10-year old kids of Thonon and your clubs to have a classroom from local schools as an own Fan Club.
To create this Fan Club, just give us a contact name in a Rowing Club of your fédération. We will contact and connect this person with a local classroom. The kids will have one year to learn about your team, your city, your region, your country, your language, your culture and they will be eager to meet you and be your Fans during the event.
